I finally figured it out!

*Read last part to see how I got my iHome to play music again*

After iOS 9, my ihome station would no longer play music to wake me up. As others have stated, it became a large charging station for me, and nothing more.

Ive experimented with the app and my iPhone to try and get it to play my music as an alarm, but to no avail... UNTIL I got so frustrated, that one night I just closed all of my apps after having listened to music. The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to hear my music again. Since then, its worked every time. So, if you want to try what I did and have your music back, heres what I do:

1) close every app except for music
2) in the music app, make a playlist labeled "iHome" and click on a song from it to play. It will only play music from here, even if you played a different playlist or song before you closed the app.
3) stop the music and close the app so no apps are open
4) plug in your phone and sleep
5) wake up to your music
